Working 9 to 5...

It's official. I have been employed for one week. I guess I should really preface this by saying that I was offered (and obviously accepted) the position with "Company X." At any rate, this week has been wild...

September 1 was my first day. It was what I would consider a typical first day in many respects. A lot of introductions, definitely some time to kill while everyone tried to figure out what they should do with me, and a schload of paperwork. I also went on my first customer visit. Maybe that part wasn't so typical, but it worked. I got lucky for day 2 and went on a golf outing. Since I have never played golf (other than going to a driving range once and taking one lesson) it was a very humbling experience. I have another lesson scheduled for Saturday. We're hoping for the best. Since then things have been nuts!

We sold our office. Friday was our last official day there. We don't yet have a new office. Therefore, I am working from home. Let me tell you, sometimes it's great...but so far I am unimpressed. My main problem is understanding where work ends and home begins. For example, it is now 11:03 pm, and as of half an hour ago I was sending email. Actually, up until that point, I was working pretty much non-stop. Hmm...Example two. Lunch. For some reason it feels shady to take a lunch break at home. Since I don't have co-workers to share lunch with I tried taking a 30-45 min break to eat lunch/watch tv. Watching tv during the work day seems so wrong, but what else should I do? I'm sure I'll adjust...especially since after tomorrow I shouldn't be around home too much...I will be out calling on customers. :-)

On that note, I should head off to bed. Only 17 hours (or less!) till the weekend! (Yes, I still understand the concept of Friday afternoon!!!)
