Bad moods, etc.

I've been in a bit of a funk lately. I don't know what's wrong with me. I think I've gotten antsy. I think I'm ready to move onto new things in my life. I think I've just had enough of RHIT and pretty much everything (not everyone!) associated with it.

This year has not been at all what I expected. Umm...aren't seniors supposed to be able to slack off and have fun? That hasn't been my experience. I've had an absolute shload of work to do almost all the time, and when I'm not doing work I'm looking for a job, trying to finish planning my wedding, and perpetually cleaning my apartment (not that you could ever tell).

The worst part about this all is that I have been crabby to Nat when I get to talk to him. So not only am I in a bad mood, but I get to put him in a bad mood too. Go Nichole.

I know a lot of people are really scared to move on, but to be perfectly honest I have always been one of those people who is ready to move on when the time comes. I guess I like things to change. Odd for someone who lived in the same place her whole life...whatever.

On the upside, I did manage to write my wedding vows yesterday. It made me happy to get those done, but I can pretty much guarantee that I will not be able to recite them without crying. Oh well.

I'm off to bed for now. Tomorrow is yet another busy day.

T-31 days 10 hours and 24 mins until graduation....

Weekend fun

Ahh...Monday afternoon. There is very little that is actually accomplished on a Monday afternoon...hence the blog. Let's see, what did I do this weekend?

Friday night: Went shopping for a pair of flip-flops. Ended up buying 2 dresses, 2 pairs of nicer sandles, 1 pair of black dress shoes and 2 pairs of flip flops. Before you go nuts thinking that I am a shopaholic (which I may be) I did not have any sandles. I threw away my old ones in the fall, so I did need those. I also needed dresses for the honeymoon(!) so those were good too. In fact the only thing that I really didn't need was the pair of black dress shoes, but they were extremely cute and I only paid $11 for them, so I don't feel too bad about those. Anywho, while shopping I ran into Sandea and Angie and ended up hanging out with them for the evening. We went back to Angie's apartment, ate pizza from Maurizio's (sp?) for the first time for all of us, and watched Legally Blonde 2. Overall, very good times.

Saturday I received an early phone call because I had not shown up for Campus Beautification (or bootification as I like to call it), so I hauled my booty out of bed and placed a grand total of 4 flowers into pre-dug holes. Yep, I was very important for campus beautification. I came back to my place, worked on a paper, took a shower and headed out with Sandea. We went to Fruitridge Gardens and got a flat of flowers for her Mom (had a ton of fun!) and then went to the mall to get makeovers. Makeovers were interesting to say the least. Nichole (note the spelling!) did my make-up, and I looked a lot like a 2-bit whore. I was trying to get good colors for my wedding, but I looked more like I had been in a bar fight. She was determined to use purple eye shadow that matched my dark circles to a tee. Needless to say I bought nothing, but I think I may have scared a few small children. Sandea's makeup looked much better...except for her hooker red lips. I guess that's what happens when Hautians do your makeup! I came home and talked to my sister for awhile and basically killed a little bit of time. Saturday night finally rolled around, and Sandea and I went to a party that Mark and Luke were throwing. Overall, it was a very good time. The Amberbock (sp?) was flowing from the kegs, but I did not get drunk because I was driving home that night. I ended up heading home sometime around 1 am and then started reading The Catcher in the Rye. It's a good book...at least I like it.

Sunday was pretty much a wash. I read some since my book is due tomorrow, and went to hear the Rose-Hulman Jazz Band play at the Artsfest. I must say I was quite impressed with the band overall. The trumpets and saxaphones were particullarly good. The trombones left a little to be desired as I really felt like they were trying too hard and instead of having a nice mellow trombone sound it came out as a lot of blasts. I think I had to wipe some lacquer off of me a few times during a couple of the trombone solos, but overall I was impressed. Other than that, all I did on Sunday was go to Church and talk to my parents and my Natty! :-)

Nat and I had a very interesting conversation. Without giving all the gory details basically being apart sucks. I know, it's not too much longer, but it's already practically been forever. I mean when you count the summers and everything, we've spent over 1/3 of our relationship apart. I don't recommend it. It's been hard this year, but I am glad that it's almost over...if only June could get here just a little more quickly!!!

Ok, so now that I bored you with the details of my weekend, you are probably wandering what the point is. Well, point #1: I had a great weekend. It's been a long time since I've hung out with Sandea that much and it was a blast. Thanks!!!
Point #2: This was my "free" weekend, and I stayed busy the whole time. It was good though so it's ok.
Point #3: I was supposed to work on getting caught up on homework and packing stuff in my apartment this weekend. That obviously did not happen.
Point #4: Long distance relationships suck and I don't recommend them.

T-32 days 18 hours and 14 minutes till graduation...just in case anyone is counting.
T-53 days 20 hours and 14 minutes till my wedding...and yes, I know that I am the only person counting this one!

Have a good one!
