Well...I'm in a crappy mood and therefore feel compelled to blog. But before I do that, I have to share this email with you all.
Hey Nichole, just letting you know that a 57 year old grandpa read your blog. Didn't know what the heck a blog was until I stumbled unto this blog website.
Well, you were wondering if anyone read your blog and I'm just responding to your query.
Read it, enjoyed it, kind of thought the part about you getting married just as your parents were divorcing was kinda strange. Not that it doesn't happen, but couldn't they have held it together long enough until after you got married?
Oh, well, just one man's opinion.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your life.
Good luck to you and your new spouse.
Shayne.
I thought it was interesting that the first email I got was from someone I have never met. Plus, bonus points to Shayne for spelling my name correctly! I have family members who still can't do that!!! Shayne, if you are reading this again thanks!
Anywho...I was trying to figure out how much money I needed to borrow to make up the balance of school today, and I decided I should see what I have borrowed total over the last three years. Oddly, while it was not as much as I thought, the fact that I still have to borrow over $10K this year was depressing. I was hoping to make it out a little cheaper this year, thus taking myself not so far into debt. Oh well I guess that's life. I can't say that I am unhappy with my decision to attend Rose. I absolutely love it, and I have been very happy there, but now that paying it off is getting closer it is a little daunting. But I guess there's not a whole lot I can do.
At today's all-day meeting I made lists of everything that I need to get done. (I'm just the intern...I don't really HAVE to pay attention!!!) Yes, figuring out financial aid was on there...blogging was not. At any rate, the first seven or so weeks of school are going to be an absolute madhouse for me. I have to put together a whole lot of SGA events, plan the career fair, manage to pull off pref party, and still pass my classes! I guess why make life easy when you can make it really difficult, right? It will be a challenge, but I am definitely looking forward to it all. But I do have a ton of stuff to get done before the summer is over!
In addition to that stuff I am taking the LSATS in the fall. I figure why stop now? I'm this far in debt...might as well keep it up. No, in all seriousness, if I do go to law school it won't be for a few years. I just want the option to be there if I decide to go. So, in the midst of everything else, I am attempting to study for the LSATS...I guess when it comes down to it I am just psycho! The only sad thing is that the LSATS are over Homecoming weekend. I guess I will miss out on Friday night and Saturday morning/afternoon activities, but then I will get to participate whole-heartedly Saturday night in celebration of finally being done! Thank goodness!!!
On that note, I'm going to run some errands and try to get a few things done around my apartment. Not getting home until late hasn't left me much time for my nightly cleaning routine...not to mention the whole apartment could use a good vaccumming. Plus, Nat is coming in this weekend, and I can't let him see this place looking like it does. He'll have second thoughts about this whole marriage thing for sure!!!
Take care all and I will talk to you soon!

I had an all afternoon meeting at work today followed by a cocktail party and dinner. Needless to say, I drank a little (but not so much that I was drunk or that I couldn't drive home) and now I feel the need to blog. Whatever.
I started thinking about my jobs today. Since I was in high school I've really only had three jobs. The first I worked with Sarah Srodulski at the place we fondly called Hell. We did data entry, and it sucked. But, the pay was good, and that made me happy. I worked there starting halfway through my senior year in high school until I left for college. Then I came back and worked there again after my freshman year. Last year I had an engineering intership with Illinois Power in Decatur, IL. Once again, the pay was good, but it just wasn't what I wanted to do. Finally we make it to this summer. I am working in Marketing at Caterpillar in Peoria, IL and I absolutely love it! I even look forward to going to work everyday! I'm thinking I finally found my niche in corporate America. About time.
At our dinner tonight I had the opportunity to talk to several people in my group who are in sales with CAT. It's funny becuase while I would love to work for CAT it is by no means my dream job. For starters the location is all wrong. Peoria isn't an absolutely awful place, but it's also not my ideal place to live. Plus I do have to think about what Nat wants to do, and he seems kind of fond of the idea of staying in Chicago. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Chicago, but I might be able to learn to live there. It's somewhat of a toss-up. I love the city, but I hate the traffic. I guess if I didn't have to deal with the traffic all the time it would be ok.
Nat mentioned that I might look into working for Motorola in their Technical Sales Program. It's somewhat more along the lines of Texas Instruments (my dream job), so I think I would enjoy it...I guess we'll see what happens this year.
I think I'm going to head to bed now. It's been a long day and tomorrow should prove to be long as well...one whole day in meetings. At least we have cocktails to look forward to afterwards!
Goodnight all!
